NHL Playoffs: A Look Inside the Toronto Maple Leafs vs Boston Bruins
The NHL playoffs are all set. The Stanley Cup is just 16 wins away. It will be the hardest 16 wins that a team will have to go through. Each team will start with a clean slate. If the two teams played each other during the regular season it means very little. The second series is between the Toronto Maple Leafs vs Boston Bruins.
Both teams had 100 points during the regular season. They both had the pleasure of looking up at the Tampa Bay Lightning. This will be the second year in a row that these two teams will meet each other. This will be the third time since 2013 in which we all remember the Maple Leafs losing in 7 to the Bruins. For the Bruins, they are hoping that what they did in the past will continue. For the Maple Leafs, they are hoping to finally break through and dispatch the Bruins.
These two teams took different paths at the end of the season. The Maple Leafs finished the season with 100 points but scuffled in the end. In their final 14 games, they would go 4-7-3 not the way they wanted to finish. There have been rumors that the GM and head coach are disagreeing on which players should be starting. The Leafs have a tall order to beat the Bruins. This of course in a rivalry that the Leafs want to finally beat their thorn in their side.
The Bruins finished the season with 107 points tied in second with Calgary Flames. The Flames might play one of these teams in the finals. The Bruins had a 19-point winning streak. In the final 32 games, the Bruins went 22-7-4. If they don’t look past the Maple Leafs than the should be able to continue the path, they’re on. Which is a winning one. If they get past the Maple Leafs, they will have to overcome a 5-game loss a year ago to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
My Prediction: Bruins in 6
