Offensive Line

The Cleveland Browns are in a position that we are not used to seeing them in. They do not have a first-round draft pick in 2019. In addition, they do not need to draft for need. They can draft for best player or depth. Depth across the o-line is something that the Browns could use.

Kaleb McGary out of the University of Washington is a player that could be available. The tall tackle (6’7”) is talented but raw. He plays low which is great for his size. However, he has trouble moving laterally. While he may eventually be a starter in the NFL, he is best to swing in the beginning.

Running Back

Yes, they have their starter, Nick Chubb. Nonetheless, they still need some depth. Currently rostered behind Chubb is Duke Johnson, Dontrell Hilliard, and Devante Mays. On Monday, Johnson requested a trade. Thus, making this a sudden area of need.

Mike Sanders would be a great replacement for Duke Johnson. He is versatile out of the backfield. In fact, Sanders caught 24 balls out of the backfield at Penn State in 2018. Sanders is also a return man. Giving the Browns another option on special teams.

Safety

Again, the Browns are drafting for depth in 2019. Safety is a position of needed depth. Currently, there are only three on the roster.

One player that the Browns could have available to them is Chauncey Gardner-Johnson out of the University of Florida. He is an athletic yet versatile safety. The junior safety can cover in the slot and plays downhill. Gardner-Johnson is quickly rising up on draft boards so the Cleveland Browns may have to garner a move if they wish to acquire the hot safety.

The Cleveland Browns were big spenders in free agency. Therefore, they filled a few holes and only need depth from the 2019 NFL Draft. It will be interesting to see this team play this season.
