NHL: Three Head Coaches Facing the Hot Seat

With 5 games left in the NHL season, some coaches are on the hot seat. There are teams that felt they could do better. Now we all can’t put the blame on the coaches but in the end, they are the ones who get blamed. This season has seen many coaches already fired. The teams that feel they need to make a change will do so by next week. Here are three coaches who I believe are on the hot seat.

Mike Babcock (Toronto Maple Leafs)

The Leafs are in the playoffs. He has many fights with the general manager of what players to play and when. He is on thin ice. The Leafs will not continue to be on the pace they are on unless this problem stops. They are a young team and it seemed when Babcock was hired he was the right fit. If the Leafs lose in the first round most likely Babcock will be fired.

Bob Boughner (Florida Panthers)

The Panthers are looking up at their in-state rival the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Lightning has dominated since the season started. They have had too many ups and downs during the season. In some games, they can score goals and others they are not. Boughner has done the best he can. The Panthers will once again miss the playoffs and that might spell the end of Boughner in Sunrise.

Bruce Boudreau (Minnesota Wild)

The Wild are 4-points out of the final playoff spot. This is a team that has, at times, looked like they could be a powerful team in the Western Conference. Boudreau has had a good reputation and when he was first hired, he seemed to be a good fit. The Wild have been hit with injuries at the wrong time of the season. That is not Boudreau’s fault. They have not looked good at home and it might be time to see Boudreau be released.
