Tampa Bay Lightning: To Make a Trade or Not
As the NHL trading deadline approaches the question is should the Tampa Bay Lightning make a trade? The team has been the best team in the NHL all season. The team chemistry is great. If a trade is made would that chemistry be the same? Do the Lightning need to make a trade? Is there a weakness on the Lightning now?
Now the Tampa Bay Lightning have a 15-point lead on any team in the NHL. They have dominated all season. The team has been able to score goals at bunches. The Lightning has the best goalie duo in all the NHL. The defense has been stronger this year. The weakness from last year the power play and penalty kill are now both ranked in towards the top of the NHL.
With the Tampa Bay Lightning where they are now is a trade necessary?
That is a question that we all must wait and see what the answer is too. I believe that currently, the Lightning doesn’t have to make a change. The reason I say that is that the team show little to no weaknesses. The only weakness might be that they give up too many shots. They could look to fix that.
If the Lightning does decide to make a trade it will have to be the right guy coming to the team. When they made a trade last year, they got back Ryan McDonagh and J.T. Miller from the New York Rangers. Both players are good character guys and are a good fit for the Lightning. If the Lightning decides to go that route this year Julien Brisebois will have to make sure that happens again. I am sure that he will with the help of Steve Yzerman as an advisor. Team chemistry is important especially when it means winning a Stanley Cup. The Tampa Bay Lightning are a talented team no matter if they make a trade or not and have a great chance of winning the Stanley Cup.
