Green Bay Packers: Matt LaFleur Hired as Next Head Coach
It appears as though the coaching search for the Green Bay Packers is over. Per reports from Adam Schefter and others, the Packers have tabbed Tennessee Titans OC, Matt LaFleur to be the replacement to Mike McCarthy. If that is indeed the case, the Packers could very well be getting the next young stud in the coaching ranks.
Packers offered the job to Titans' OC Matt LaFleur, per sources. Other HC candidates have been notified that they're out. So it looks like LaFleur in Green Bay.

Matt LaFleur is only 39-years-old. He has an extensive coaching background that ranges from college to the professional ranks. During that time, he has worked with some of the best that the league has to offer.
LaFleur started his coaching adventure as an offensive assistant with Saginaw Valley State. He was there or one season. His other college coaching adventures include Central Michigan University, Northern Michigan, Ashland, and Notre Dame. All of these were either QB or coordinator related. He also coached WRs at Northern Michigan.
Matt LaFleur also has 11 years of coaching experience at the professional level. That began back in 2007 with the Houston Texans. Here he spent two seasons. Next, he spent four seasons as the quarterback’s coach for the Washington Redskins (2010-2013). He then followed that up as the quarterback’s coach for the Atlanta Falcons (2015-2016). Finally, he has spent the last two seasons as an offensive coordinator. One season with the Los Angeles Rams (2017) and last year with Mike Vrabel and the Tennessee Titans (2018).
It is through these ventures that LaFleur became a hot commodity. Under Sean McVay and LaFleur in LA, the Rams offense finished 10th in the NFL in total offense (362 YPG), 10th in passing (239 YPG), and 8th in rushing (122 YPG).
With Head Coach Mike Vrabel and the Tennessee Titans, he did not fare as well. The Titans were 25th in total yards (312 YPG) and 29th in passing (186 YPG). However, they were 7th in rushing (126 YPG).
This move should bring the Green Bay Packer back to the forefront in the NFC. In fact, Matt LaFleur inherits one of the best QBs in football, Aaron Rodgers. He also gets to work with an up and coming ground game that Aaron Jones leads.
