DFS: Week 14 AAA Could Be Your Ticket to Cash

Here we are DFS Week 14 and we have ourselves another intriguing slate. There is value at the RB position due to a slew of injuries that could help offset the cost of paying up at QB and WR this week. There are a lot of game situations that will most likely lead to a lot of similar lineup constructions. Look for the value and positive game script opportunities to get the differentiation that you will need.

Disclaimer: I tend to build my lineups with cash games in mind, to test performance you can most definitely play these in gpp tournaments. I also give what level of confidence I have in these plays.

Quarterbacks

Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers -6, O/U 49) hosting Atlanta Falcons

It is no secret that Rodgers and the Packers have been just downright terrible this season. With the departure of Mike McCarthy and the general feeling that a team will play harder in the first week after the removal. Look for Rodgers to have a field day against a terrible Falcons defense in what is shaping up to be a shootout. Rodgers ownership is going to be low and with a four-touchdown team total, this play is too good to pass up. At $8.1K on FD and $6.0K on DK, he’s a lock for both your Cash and GPP lineups.  Confidence level: High Exposure

Stack considerations: Aaron Jones, Devante Adams, Marquis Valdes-Scantling

Ben Roethlisberger (Pittsburgh Steelers -11, O/U 51.5) visiting Oakland Raiders

This is an interesting play because the first thing that some will say is “Ben sucks on the road”. While in other weeks that may be true Ben is going to stare down a Raiders defense that just doesn’t care anymore. I highly doubt he will continue his interception streak this week, I look for him to eat and eat large. At $8.6K on FD and $6.8K on DK, he’s a lock in Cash games and it wouldn’t hurt you to drop him in a few GPP lineups.  Confidence level: Moderate-High Exposure

Stack considerations: JuJu Smith-Schuster, Antonio Brown, Jaylen Samuels, Vance McDonald

Jameis Winston (Tampa Bay Buccaneers +8 O/U 55.5) hosting New Orleans Saints

With one of the highest total lines on this week slate, combined with the good ball that Winston is playing. He finds himself back on my list this week. The matchup is great and the Saints have proven to be vulnerable. Winston has also led the team in rushing the past 2 weeks so his dual-threat potential makes him even more appetizing. At $7.7K on FD and $6.2K on DK, he’s a lock for both your Cash and GPP lineups.  Confidence level: High Exposure

Stack considerations: Chris Godwin, Adam Humphries, Mike Evans

Other QB Options

You have the three above as my top options, but there are some others to take a look at Deshaun Watson (GPP), Drew Brees (Cash, GPP), Matt Ryan (GPP), if you’re really daring or want to fit higher priced elements you could press your luck with Mark Sanchez (GPP).

Running Backs

I wrote an earlier piece about the Value Roulette at the RB position, take a look and it may help in some situations.

Aaron Jones (Green Bay Packers -6, O/U 49) hosting Atlanta Falcons

Let this sink in, Aaron Jones has averaged 24 fantasy points over the past 4 weeks. With Atlanta coming to town and the inability to stop pass-catching running backs. Not to mention the above mentioned new play calling and overall idea that the Packers will play harder. At 12% ownership and a price of 7.2K on DK and $7.5K on FD, he’s a lock in both Cash and GPP formats. Confidence level: High Exposure

Stack considerations: Aaron Rodgers, Devante Adams, Marquis Valdes-Scantling

Ezekiel Elliot (Dallas Cowboys -3.5, O/U 43) hosting Philadelphia Eagles

The last time the Cowboys played the Eagles, Elliott ran for 151 yards. Elliott’s also averaging nearly six catches over the last five games. With the Cowboys defense on a roll and playing as they belong in the conversation as one of the best, along with the snail’s pace that the offense likes to run at. Elliot has everything he needs to score big yet again. At $8.9K on FD and $8.6K on DK, he’s a lock for both your Cash and GPP lineups.  Confidence level: Moderate-High Exposure

Stack considerations: Amari Cooper, Cowboys Defense

Jalen Richard (Oakland Raiders +11, O/U 51.5) hosting Pittsburgh Steelers

I can’t believe I’m recommending a Raider here, but I felt I needed to provide a value play for consideration. As I mentioned in the other article I believe Richard’s upside is the best of the value RB’s on this weeks slate. Richard has been heavily involved in the passing game all season long, and last week put up a season-high 126 total yards. With the game script trending to the Raiders being down and having to throw, Richard is in the perfect position to rack up those PPR points. At $4.8K on FD and $4.1K on DK, he’s a lock for cash savings in your GPP lineups.  Confidence level: Low-Moderate Exposure

Stack considerations: None, Who would stack the Raiders?

Other RB Options

While I only mention 3 above, there are other RB’s that I really like this week, Phillip Lindsey (GPP), Alvin Kamara (Cash, GPP), Nick Chubb (GPP), Lamar Miller (Cash, GPP) and if you want to pivot off Richard at value have a look at Jeff Wilson (GPP) and Jaylen Samuels (Cash, GPP).

Wide Receivers

Devante Adams (Green Bay Packers -6, O/U 49) hosting Atlanta Falcons

In the title I mentioned to Call AAA for the win this week, well here is your final A. Not to beat a dead horse but I fully expect the Packers to come out of the gate in this game and Rodgers is going to throw the ball. Adams is his favorite target and already a target hog. Look for him to exploit the 31st ranked Falcons defense and put up some big numbers. At $8.7K on FD and $8.4K on DK, he’s a great DFS option for your Cash and GPP lineups.  Confidence level: High Exposure

Stack considerations: Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Jones

JuJu Smith-Schuster (Pittsburgh Steelers -11, O/U 51.5) visiting Oakland Raiders

While Antonio Brown is always a great option, I think this week JuJu has the better matchup. His CB matchups are better than Browns and after last week where Ben only had eyes for Brown, JuJu should have a great shot to find the end zone against a Raiders defense that has allowed eight TDs to wideouts in the last five games. At $7.5K on FD and $8.2K on DK, he’s a great DFS option for your Cash and GPP lineups.  Confidence level: Moderate-High Exposure

Stack considerations: Ben Roethlisberger, Jaylen Samuels

Chris Godwin (Tampa Bay Buccaneers +8 O/U 55.5) hosting New Orleans Saints

Here is a crazy stat, DeSean Jackson has been ruled out again and in the last three games that he has missed, Godwin’s lines have been 3/98/0, 7/111/1, 5/101/1. Lattimore will most likely be shadowing Mike Evans which should open up opportunities for Godwin who will be looking at Eli Apple who has been burned much of this season. Winston has been looking for other opportunities quicker and forcing fewer balls since he has been back at the helm so look for Godwin to eat. At $5.6K on FD and $4.9K on DK, he’s a great DFS option for your Cash and GPP lineups.  Confidence level: Moderate-High Exposure

Stack considerations: Jameis Winston, Chris Humphries

Other WR Options

There is a lot out there this weekend and besides the above mentioned have a look at Julio Jones (Cash, GPP), Michael Thomas (Cash, GPP), Keenan Allen (Cash, GPP), Amari Cooper (GPP) Courtland Sutton (GPP). If you’re looking to save some cash but increase your risk have a look at Marques Valdes-Scantling (GPP) and Zay Jones (GPP).

Tight Ends

Eric Ebron (Indianapolis Colts +4.5, O/U 49) visiting Houston Texans

When evaluating the tight end position this week, I really didn’t see anything that jumped out at me. So back to Ebron we go. While his volatility has been an issue this season, he’s in a good position to get some red zone targets. He could also have a higher upside if TY Hilton is sidelined. At $6.4K on FD and $5.7K on DK, he’s a great DFS option for your Cash and GPP lineups.  Confidence level: Moderate-High Exposure

Stack considerations: None

Other TE Options

There REALLY isn’t much out there unless you want to pay up. If that’s the case and you are going a total value play at RB, then Zach Ertz (GPP), Travis Kelce (GPP) and George Kittle (GPP) are your options. More risk and high upside at a lower cost have a look at Dan Arnold (GPP) and Matt LaCosse (GPP).

Defenses

Here is where I’m looking for a DFS defense this week LA Chargers (GPP), LA Rams, (GPP), Buffalo Bills (GPP), Washington Redskins (Cash, GPP), Dallas Cowboys (GPP). If you want to punt your defense take a look at Philadelphia Eagles (GPP) and Cleveland Browns (GPP).
