Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 3 Things to Watch Against the Carolina Panthers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are hosting the Carolina Panthers. The Buccaneers are coming off a win last week. They had a dominating win over the San Francisco 49ers. Now as all division games are this one is important. The Panthers are still fighting for a playoff spot. The Buccaneers aren’t going to the postseason in 2018. They have many questions heading into the last 5 games. The Buccaneers were firing on all cylinders last week against the 49ers. Can they repeat that this week against the Panthers? Here are three things to watch against the Carolina Panthers.

1. Jameis Winston

Winston was near perfect last week. His biggest problem has been interceptions and fumbles. Last week he did not turn the ball over. He used all his weapons except for maybe DeSean Jackson. He and Jackson have had issues since Jackson arrived. In the games in which he doesn’t turn it over the Buccaneers look good. The Panthers defense hasn’t been good, but they are better than the 49ers. Winston will have to do it two games in a row if they are going to beat the Panthers.

2. Buccaneers Defense

Last week before the game the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced the defense. As they announce Gerald McCoy’s name he waited for the other three defensive linemen and they all walk in a line. That line played very well last week. They had stops and sacks. First-round draft pick Vita Vea looked like the player he was supposed to be. This week they will have Cam Newton to deal with. The Buccaneers also have Christian McCaffery to try to stop. Both gentlemen have been hard to stop. Therefore, this will be a challenge for the Buccaneers defense.

3. The Home Crowd

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are giving out extra tickets to their season ticket holders. They need fans in the stands. The Buccaneers fans have not been happy with the product on the field. The fans are not showing up and they want a total shakeup. Some of the fans want Winston, Dirk Koetter, and Jason Licht gone. We will have to see what the Glazers do.

Normally home teams depend on their fans. Those fans make it hard for the opposing team. The fans want certain players and coaches gone. Jameis Winston had a great game last week. Winston will have to put his past problems with turnovers away if they are going to defeat the Panthers. The Buccaneer defense will have to repeat their performance from a week ago. They will have their hands full with Newton and the Panthers offense.
