Cincinnati Bengals: Three Keys to a Win Over the New Orleans Saints
The Cincinnati Bengals return after their bye week. Waiting for them will be the 7-1 New Orleans Saints. The game will take place at Noon on Sunday.
Cincinnati enters the game 5-3, trailing Pittsburgh by a half-game for the division lead.
Can the Bengals slow the Saints high powered offense?
THREE KEYS TO A WIN
A.J. Green injured his toe on the last offensive play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Initially, it was not thought to be serious, but that tone changed in a hurry.
Now the Cincinnati Bengals will have to enter a potentially high scoring game without their biggest offensive weapon. Tyler Boyd will be relied upon even more.
Bill Lazor is going to need to wear his creative pants on Sunday.
RUN THE BALL
I already spoke about the return of Gio Bernard. He and Joe Mixon are going to have to pick up big chunks on the ground. They will have to keep the ball away from Drew Brees and company. The Bengals will need long sustained drives that end in touchdowns. Field goals will not win this game.
The Saints knocked off the previously unbeaten Rams on Sunday. The game was back-and-forth with New Orleans winning 45-35. Will they have some sort of letdown/ It is natural for a team to underperform the week after a huge win like that. It remains to be seen if the Saints are that kind of team, however.
