Florida Gators: Breaking Down the Loss to Missouri

The Florida Gators were favored to win all their remaining games. Someone forgot to tell the Missouri Tigers that. The Tigers came to the Swamp and beat the Gators easily. Dan Mullen seems to have the Gators moving in the right direction. They seemed to be not prepared for the Tigers. The Gators are still a good team but will need to be better prepared for their next game.

The Florida Gators have been strong defense all year. They had to come into the week against one of the better quarterbacks they have faced. Drew Lock is a premier quarterback. He came into a hostile environment and shined. Drew Lock has thrown 90 total passing touchdowns in his career at Missouri. The Tigers got their first SEC win of the year. With the win, they now have put themselves in the driver’s seat for a possible bowl appearance.

The Florida Gators offensive problem has been at quarterback. It has been an issue since Tim Tebow left. Feleipe Franks had a bad first half. Dan Mullen made a move at the half. He elected to with Kyle Trask who looked good. Now the question is doing he does a good enough job to earn a start? Many people say that he did.

Is it time for the Franks experiment to be over? Mullen will have that question to answer. The problem has been the offense. Now they had good games like the one against LSU. The defense has been good all season. Let see what the Gators do moving forward. They will not make the SEC championship. Most of their fans didn’t think that was possible anyway. They like many of teams in the state of Florida are young. The fans will have to be patient because exciting things are going to happen in Gainesville.
