Cincinnati Bengals: Three Keys to a Win Over the Kansas City Chiefs
The Cincinnati Bengals head onto the road Sunday night to face the Kansas City Chiefs. Cincinnati is 4-2 on the season, tied for first in the AFC North.
Kansas City enters at 5-1. They are coming off a last-second loss to New England.
Can the Bengals regain their momentum?
THREE KEYS TO A WIN
SLOW DOWN THE CHIEFS OFFENSE
Have you watched the Chiefs offense? There is no stopping that machine. One can only hope to slow them down. Patrick Mahomes has been ridiculous so far. Kareem Hunt has continued the success he had as a rookie. Tyreek Hill is still blowing by defenders.
The player that I believe will cause the Cincinnati Bengals the most trouble is tight end Travis Kelce. I am not looking forward to watching the Bengals D try to defend him after their sad attempt at trying to stop Vance McDonald.
The Chiefs are going to score. The Bengals will have to force a few turnovers to contain the KC offense.
RUN THE BALL
Good things happen when Joe Mixon runs the football. Give the man 20-25 touches and watch the magic happen. Against Pittsburgh, Mixon carried the ball less than 15 times. The results were self-explanatory.
DON’T BE INTIMIDATED BY THE BRIGHT LIGHTS
One does not have to look far back into the history books to see that the Cincinnati Bengals under Marvin Lewis wilt under the prime time lights. This is not more evident than when they play on Sunday Night Football. 2004 was the last time Cincinnati won a game on SNF. Marvin Lewis was in his second year as a head coach.
Andy Dalton has absorbed most of the criticism for the primetime follies. Some of it is valid; some are not. However, he will have to deliver if the Bengals want to go into the Week Eight 5-2.
