Cincinnati Bengals: Three Keys to a Win Over the Pittsburgh Steelers

The Cincinnati Bengals enter Sunday’s home game with the Pittsburgh Steelers 4-1. Cincinnati roared back from a 17-point deficit to beat the Dolphins last week.

Pittsburgh enters the game 2-2-1. The Steelers trounced Atlanta last week.

Can the Bengals continue their momentum? Can they continue to put distance on the rest of the rest of the AFC North?

It is a safe assumption that these two teams do not like each other. The 2015 playoff game aside, there is a significant amount of bad blood between the two. The Bengals players must play within the right frame of mind. Looking at you Vontaze Burfict.

The Steelers are going to do everything in their power to needle him the entire game. Burfict must remain calm and focused.

Teryl Austin does not like to move his corners. If William Jackson is on the left and Dre Kirkpatrick is on the right, that is where they will stay. This is not always the best course of action. Against Pittsburgh, I would want WJ3 on Antonio brown the entire game. This would be the best way to neutralize him. Changing up the coverage plan could knock the Steelers off of their game. Since the Cincinnati Bengals never do this, they won’t see it coming.

It seems the Bengals have been playing from behind every week. This is not a strategy I would advise against Pittsburgh. Getting ahead will allow Cincinnati to dictate the tempo and in some ways the emotions. Get behind early, and the wheels may just fall off.
