UCF Looks to Extend Winning Streak to 19 Against the Memphis Tigers

Well, this week the UCF Knights head on the road for the first time in over a month. The Knights opened the season against UConn on the road and since then have played home games against South Carolina State, FAU, Pitt, and SMU. In between those was a scheduled game against UNC which was canceled due to Hurricane Florence. Once again as they did last season UCF is undefeated and blowing their opponents out of the water. Up next though is the team they beat twice last season both times though in Orlando. This time it is in Memphis and you know that it is on their mind about last season.

UCF enters the game on an 18 game winning streak the longest in the nation. It is also the longest winning streak in Knights history. Another win streak is on the line Saturday and that is UCF’s 11 game win streak over Memphis. UCF is 11-1 all time vs Memphis, with the only loss being in 1990 by a score of 37-28. UCF’s largest margin of victory came in 2011 when they won 41-0 in Orlando. After the 2013 season, UCF and Memphis had not played again til 2017 in which the Knights won both. One for the Conference Championship game a double Overtime thriller 62-55. McKenzie Milton and company have been averaging 48.6 Points per game this year and rank 7th in the Nation.  Yardage wise UCF is averaging 574.4 yards per game which is good for 3rd in the Nation.

Memphis enters this game coming off a 55-14 victory over UConn and a 40-24 loss to Tulane. Averaging 46.2 Points Per Game and 547.2 Yards per game Memphis will try to keep pace with UCF’s Offense. So what does that mean for this game? Well, its simple really there will be a ton of offense and it’s going to be a matter of which defense makes the key stops. It will be up to the Knights defense to make big stops in order to get the win.

My prediction will be lots of yards will be gained in this game. UCF will score and Memphis will threaten. However, the difference will be the Knights defense bends and doesn’t break. Vegas oddsmakers have this line at UCF by 5 I think it will be a little bit more so I will say UCF 48 Memphis 24. The Knights will look to stay unbeaten in hopes of drawing College Gameday to Orlando for one of the 2 remaining home games for the Knights.
