Denver Broncos: Three Things to Watch vs New York Jets

As the Denver Broncos head into week 5, they do so coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Although traveling on a short week it not ideal, I think the Broncos need to take advantage of being away from Denver. The team head to the New York to take on the New York Jets. While this is certainly a winnable game for the orange and blue, they will need to focus on a few things to make that happen. We look at three things to watch for the Broncos against the Jets.

Case Keenum

The defense of the New York Jets is surprisingly good. However, they do have their weaknesses. Keenum will need to minimize the turnover in order for the Denver Broncos to be successful. If Keenum maintains the status quo that he has built over the first quarter of the season, the Broncos could be in trouble.

The Denver Broncos defense needs to make it tough on Jets rookie Sam Darnold. When the Jets played the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, they did the same thing. Darnold was 17/34 for 167 yards and 1 TD. The Broncos offense needs to limit the Jets offense in the same way. If they can do so, they should see much success on Sunday.

Run Game

In my opinion, the run game of the Denver Broncos is its strength. They should have crammed it down the throat of the Chiefs on Monday Night. It was the most successful part of the offense. Thus, it needs to be the same focus again on Sunday. Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman need to be the two-headed monster that they have been all season.

This is an early must-win for the Denver Broncos. Suffering another loss could put their playoff hopes in a bind. They will need to keep pace with the Kansas City Chiefs who face a tough opponent this week.
