Tiger Woods: Emotional 1st Win at the Tour Championship
This is the conclusion of the PGA tour schedule, the Tour Championship in Atlanta, Georgia. The course where it all took place is East Lake Country Club. This is where the conclusion of the Fed Ex Cup also takes place. It is a ten-million-dollar prize. This, of course, was the last chance for Tiger Woods to win. He hasn’t won since 2015, but he has been so close, so many times this year. There was magic in the air this week like something huge was going to happen.
Tiger Woods had a magical week, and everything went his way. He was trying to forget his past with his off the course and back surgeries. Many people thought he would never come back and win again. The question was when he would win again many people believed it would be in a major. This was a special win for him and the sport of golf altogether.
Tiger Woods has been a staple for a long time. When he makes the cut the world watches. More fans watch or attend the tournaments because of him. That was present yesterday in the groups of people who follow him. The groups in front of him heard the roars like old.
The gentleman that was in front of him was Justin Rose. Rose who would birdie the last hole and win the Fed Ex Cup. He heard the roars and giggled after he knew he won.
Rory McIlroy was in the last group with Tiger Woods. He didn’t have the best of final rounds but smiled and cheered Tiger on.
As he walked up to the green, the crowds would not let him through and he finally made it through all of them. He would have a bunker shot left as his third shot. Once he hit the ball on the green, he said to his caddy, “I can take it the rest of the way.” He would have loved to make his birdie putt. However, as it rolled by the hole, he seemed a little upset. Tiger Woods then would make his par putt and tap his shoe and put his hands in the air. He appeared emotional after he won. Tiger said during the trophy ceremony that it was hard not to cry. This was his first win since 2015.
