College Football: Three Teams on Upset Alert in Week Three
Every week going forward in the college football season, I will provide three teams that should be on Upset Alert going into their game.
Last week, my upsets were 2-1. I successfully predicted Buffalo over Temple and Arizona State over Michigan State. Kansas State failed us.
So who is on high alert this week? Let’s find out!
COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEK THREE UPSET ALERT
Vanderbilt @ NOTRE DAME (-14.5)
I might be crazy, but I think the Irish are prone for an upset. The Commodores will visit South Bend, owners of a 2-0 record. Senior QB Kyle Shurmur leads a veteran group. Vandy has put up tremendous offensive numbers over the first two games.
Notre Dame is coming off of a sluggish performance against Ball State. QB Brandon Wimbush is inconsistent. The Fighting Irish offensive line may have some issues blocking Vanderbilt off the edge.
If Vandy doesn’t outright win this one, at the very least, they cover.
Boise State @ OKLAHOMA STATE (-3)
Crazy things happen in wild shootouts. Both teams should be able to score at will. The team that makes the least amount of mistakes will win. Give me the veteran QB Brett Rypien. The Broncos will not be afraid of the big game environment. Give me Boise for the win.
North Texas @ ARKANSAS (-7)
The Razorbacks are struggling at throwing the football. Last week against Colorado State, starting QB Ty Storey was pulled for ineffectiveness. This week the Mean Green come into town with a high octane offense. QB Mason Fine has been lighting up opposing defenses, including SMU in Week One. If the Hogs get behind their passing game may not be able to bring them back. Give me North Texas!
Who do you think should be on Upset Alert this week? Let us know in the comments!
