Michigan Wolverines: Looking Ahead to the 2018 Season

The Big Ten Conference is known as one of the toughest conferences in college football. One of the teams that make it that way is the Michigan Wolverines. The Wolverines have been a blue-chip team in the Big Ten for a while. This year, the question is, will they finally beat the Ohio State Buckeyes? Coach Jim Harbaugh is on the hot seat because he has yet to beat them head to head. With the issues going on at Ohio State this might be the year.

The other team that coach Harbaugh has issues with is Michigan State. Those two are not the only Big Ten teams that will cause problems for the Michigan Wolverines. They might have the toughest schedule in all of college football in 2018. They have a few easy games outside of the conference. Games against Western Michigan and SMU should be easy wins. Their opening game is against Notre Dame. This game will not be easy. Many experts have them picked to a be a college football playoff team. There are very few Big Ten games that will be easy.

The Michigan Wolverines are favorites against conference foes Nebraska, Northwestern, Maryland, Rutgers, and Indiana. That leaves Wisconsin, Michigan State, Penn State and Ohio State that will be tough for them to win. They have a demanding schedule. It’s a mix of home and away. We know that Big Ten teams, especially the blue-chip ones, are tough to beat at home. If they can win some of the tough games, they have shot to be in the Big Ten Championship game.

I see the Michigan Wolverines going 8-5. Their losses will come to Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Penn State, and Ohio State. These will be tough games as those teams are much better now. If they can somehow pull off an upset, it will make their record better. The issue is if they lose to both Michigan State and Ohio State, it could cost Harbaugh his job. I believe this will put a lot of pressure on his himself and the team. On the other hand, maybe, they will pull off some upsets and make my 8-5 prediction, just a prediction.
