ROH: What’s Going To Happen At Best In The World?

Ring of Honor is set to hold its annual ‘Best In the World’ PPV on May 29th. The show will feature numerous high-profile matches. All of the ROH titles (except Women of Honor) are on the line. Scores will be settled and careers will be defined, as this is one of the biggest wrestling events of the year.

Adam Paige vs. Punishment Martinez (Baltimore Street Fight) ROH TV Title

It’s no secret that these two don’t like one another. Paige and Martinez have gone back and forth attacking the other trying to gain the upper hand. Martinez just won the Ring of Honor TV Title. This will add a bit more intrigue to this match. I expect Martinez to come away with the win. He deserves a title run. The belt won’t be taken off him so soon. Paige will be champ at some point, just not at BITW.

Sumie Sakai, Jenny Rose, Mayu Iwatani and Tenille Dashwood vs Kelly Klein and Oedo Tai (Hazuki, Kagetsu, and Hana Kimura)

Surprisingly, the WOH belt isn’t on the line at BITW. Instead, we are getting a 6-woman tag match. I’ll admit I don’t know much about Oedo Tai, but Kelly Klein should be next in line for Sakai’s title. I expect Klein to pin the champ in this match, setting up a feud between the two.

Jay Lethal vs. Kushida

Lethal has been on a crusade to avenge his biggest losses. His next opponent has the upper hand in their rivalry. Kushida is one of the best wrestlers in the world. The same can be said for Lethal. Without a doubt, this will be a match of the night candidate. Lethal will get the win here, seeing as he’s been successfully avenging all of his big losses.

The Kingdom vs. LIJ (Bushi, Evil, Sanada)
ROH 6-Man Titles

It would be pretty rewarding to see LIJ walk away with the 6-man belts. That’s probably not going to happen. The Kingdom are just too good as champs. LIJ aren’t full-time ROH wrestlers, so them getting the belts doesn’t seem logical. Although, ROH has given NJPW wrestlers titles before. Knowing The Kingdom, they’ll find a way to sneak or cheat out a win.

Austin Aries vs. Kenny King

This feud was set up during the recent Aries/Silas Young match on ROH TV. This will be a match that could steal the show. King and Aries are both at the top of their games. Expect Aries to get the win, as he’ll continue to look like the most dominant champ in of the wrestling world.

Flip Gordon vs. Bully Ray

Bully has been nothing but bad news for ROH. If it weren’t for Flip, things could have been a lot worse. This isn’t a match I’m looking forward to, as this doesn’t seem to be a great blend of styles. Flip will get the win. Bully is more than happy to put over new talent.

Young Bucks vs. Briscoe Brothers
ROH Tag Titles

Two of the most decorated tag team’s in Ring Of Honor history square off at BITW. The Briscoe’s have been champs for only a few months, but they aren’t the favorite going into this match. With the Young Bucks winning the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Titles, they’ve been riding a wave of momentum. Mark and Jay Briscoe have been on a path of destruction. This match could go either way. Expect The Briscoes to retain, but a second match in this program will happen.

Cody vs. Dalton Castle vs. Marty Scurll
ROH World Title

This is the match fans have been waiting for. The three participants are some of the best wrestlers in the company. There’s a lot on the line for Cody. He wins, and there’s an NWA title shot waiting for him at All In. Castle doesn’t want to let go of the belt anytime soon. Although, injuries might prevent him from defending on a regular basis. Scurll will be looking for his first Ring of Honor World Title. He’s more than deserving. Expect Cody to win, as he’s going to represent at All In.
