San Francisco 49ers: Three Bold Predictions for 2018
The San Francisco 49ers are going to be a surprise team in 2018. They have a young nucleus and a young coaching staff. This, along with their front office not being afraid has set the 49ers up for a strong future. However, their immediate future is the focus. Can they be a playoff team in 2018? Is Jimmy Garoppolo a top-ten QB? Who is going to tote the rock? All these questions and more will get answers as we get closer. Nonetheless, we are going to throw out some BOLD predictions on the 2018 San Francisco 49ers.
- Jimmy Garoppolo finishes top-five in passing
The move the 49ers made at the trade deadline last season shocked many people. The whole season was the talk of how Kirk Cousins would be the man in San Fran. Now we have all turned our attention to Jimmy G. When will he lose his first game as a NFL QB? It will be sometime this year, that we can say. However, under Kyle Shanahan look for Garoppolo to shine and finish in the top 5 in passing.
- Defense will be top-ten
The San Francisco 49ers will be a tough defense in 2018. They have tools to get to the QB in Solomon Thomas, Arik Armstead, and DeForest Buckner. Malcolm Smith and Reuben Foster, if the league does not suspend him, will control the middle. Meanwhile, Richard Sherman, Ahkello Witherspoon and Jimmie Ward, and Jaquiski Tartt will roam the backend. It will be one of the best defenses in the NFL.
- San Francisco 49ers will win the NFC West
Yes, I said it. The 49ers will unseat the Los Angeles Rams as NFC West Champions. This division, in my eyes, is a two-team race. No, it does not include the Seattle Seahawks. I believe that the 49ers and Rams will run this division with the San Francisco 49ers breaking the mold and coming out on top.
There you have them. Three BOLD predictions for the 2018 San Francisco 49ers. They may not come across well received, just remember they are BOLD.
