Houston Texans: Three Bold Predictions for 2018
2017 for the Houston Texans started rough. The first half of their opening game was nothing to write home to mom about. They started the season with a 26-0 deficit before turning to rookie sensation Deshaun Watson. However, that all came crashing down when Watson tore his ACL on a non-contact injury in practice. Now we turn to 2018 and the return of Watson and a dynamic Texans offense. Let us not forget, JJ Watt returns to the defense if the Houston Texans as well. How deep can this team go? Here are three bold predictions for the 2018 Houston Texans.
If Watson has the type of year he was having in 2017, this is a no-brainer. This also put him in the MVP talks. Watson is a young stud QB. He makes the Texans offense extremely dynamic. Watson also improves the worth of DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller, and believe or not Lamar Miller. If all of this comes to fruition we can see a deep playoff run from the Houston Texans.
- Lamar Miller is a top-five RB.
With the return of Deshaun Watson, Lamar Miller becomes a legit weapon. In 2017, Miller finished the season with 888 yards on 238 carries. However, he played half a season without Watson under center. Once Watson went down, Miller became the focal point for defenses. They stacked the box and made inefficient QBs beat them. Which did not happen.
- The Houston Texans play for AFC Championship
This team was well on its way to doing this in 2017. Nonetheless, injuries derailed that dream. Now, a new season and a new dream. Watson, Watt, and others return to lead the Texans to not only an AFC South crown but a chance at the AFC crown. This team is a strong contender in 2018.
These predictions may not be well-liked. After all, they are BOLD! They are not made to be well-liked. If these come to the top, we really may see the Houston Texans go deep in the NFL Playoffs.
