Washington Redskins: Three Bold Predictions for 2018
For the fans of the Washington Redskins, there has been a lot to talk about this offseason. Well, I am about to give you some more. From Kirk Cousins to Alex Smith, and to the 2018 NFL Draft, this has been a busy offseason. With training camp a little over a month away, it is time to start throwing out some predictions. A few weeks ago I gave you three reason why the Redskins could win the NFC East. Now I am going BOLD. Here are three bold predictions for the 2018 Washington Redskins season.
Throughout his career, Alex Smith has always been an average QB. However, he is a smart average QB. He does not turn the ball over. He is also willing to take some risks on the deep ball. Something that his predecessor would not do. Nonetheless, Smith will be the leader under center that Washington Redskins have been missing. He will be a minimum of two games difference. That could be enough to make the playoffs.
- Run Defense will be Top 10
Last year the run defense of the Washington Redskins was garbage. It finished dead last in the league. However, when the big boy, Jonathan Allen was in the middle they were in the upper echelon of run stoppers. Now they have added Da’Ron Payne to the mix. If he can stay healthy along with the rest of the Redskins front seven, this defense could surprise a lot of running backs in 2018.
- The Washington Redskins will win a playoff game
With all the moves that this team has made it is not far-fetched that the will make the playoffs. What could be more impressive is that the Washington Redskins will win a playoff game? The last tie they won a playoff game was 13 years ago. Now they have built a roster that could actually replicate this feat. Thus, if they are able to win a playoff game in 2018, some much-needed hope would be restored to the beaten fan base.
The 2018 Washington Redskins are a team, on paper, that can scare many opponents. If they can stay healthy, this team could go a long way.
