Kings Island: Boo Blasters On Boo Hill Is A Great Family Dark Ride At Many Cedar Fair Parks
Kings Island is one of the premier parks for thrill seekers. It’s also home to a massive kids area, which is described as one of the best in the world. Situated just outside of Planet Snoopy is Boo Blasters on Boo Hill, an interactive dark ride that is fun for the entire family.
If you’ve ever experienced a ride such as Buzz Lightyear at the numerous Disney parks you’ll have a good idea of how Boo Blasters works. It’s a dark ride that has a shooting base. Which many amusement parks across the country do. And while this wasn’t the best I’ve ever done, it’s certainly a worthy addition to Kings Island.
Located at four Cedar Fair parks ( Kings Island, Carowinds, Kings Dominion, Canda’s Wonderland) Boo Blasters is a fun attraction, but not the best.
The overall themeing of the ride is excellent. The front of the attraction looks like a haunted house, and the ride molds itself after one as well.
Here’s the issue with Boo Blasters. While well themed, it’s tough to actually shoot anything. The guns don’t feel as if they are actually working. And worst of all, the targets are small and can only be hit at certain times. It makes for a very frustrating ride.
I’ll give Boo Blasters this, it’s a very long ride. Although, that’s a double-edged sword because your hands will be hurting about halfway through. At some points of the ride, it’s just best to admire the set pieces and follow the rather vague story.
I’m not sure how this ride stacks up to the other Boo Blasters rides at the other parks, but I’m sure it’s fairly similar. And while I’ve probably given you a bad impression of this attraction, it’s really not that bad. Just expect a tad bit of frustration when shooting the small targets. Otherwise, it’s a fantastic ride for kids, adults, and the whole family.[DanielTwitter]
