Derwin James NFL Scouting Combine

2018 NFL Scouting Combine Day 4 Recap – CB, S

The recap for Day 4 of the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine is underway with the cornerbacks and safeties.

Minkah Fitzpatrick NFL Scouting Combine

Drill Standouts Cornerbacks and Safeties performances

CB: Minkah Fitzpatrick Alabama, Tony Brown Alabama, Donte Jackson LSU, Parry Nickerson Tulane, Jaire Alexander Louisville, Grant Haley Penn State, Davontae Harris Illinois State, Duke Dawson Florida, Nick Nelson Wisconsin, Isaiah Oliver Colorado, Mike Hughes Central Florida, Quenton Meeks Stanford

S: Derwin James Florida State, Siran Neal Jacksonville State, Troy Apke Penn State, Justin Reid Stanford, Natrell Jamerson Wisconsin, Dane Cruikshank Arizona, Godwin Igwebuike Northwestern, Tre Flowers Oklahoma State, Terrell Edmunds Virginia Tech, Joshua Kalu Nebraska, Jessie Bates Wake Forest, Marcus Allen Penn State, Deshon Elliott Texas, Kyzir White West Virginia

Worst Combine Performance: Tarvarus McFadden CB Florida State

With that type of speed, Tavarus McFadden may be too stiff/ rigid and will not be fast or quick enough to play cornerback for most schemes, running a 4.67 and a 4.76 in the 40-yard dash. McFadden may have to be a zone cornerback or safety at the next level as he was hyped up as a day 2 selection before the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine but may fall into late Day 3. Due to his height, his vertical jump was ok but had a poor 10 ft. broad jump compared to the other safeties.
