Ring of Honor: Expections From The 16th Anniversary Show In Las Vegas?
Ring of Honor is celebrating its 16th Anniversary in Las Vegas. With that comes the annual PPV. This year’s show won’t disappoint. There are quite a few matches that are worthy of predictions.
1. Dalton Castle vs. Jay Lethal
This one is for the ROH title. It’s not the first time these two have met, but with stakes this high, it’s arguably the most important. A betting man would pick Lethal to win this match. Castle hasn’t had the belt long, and it appears ROH might be setting up for a title change at Supercard of Honor (more on that in the next prediction). Giving Lethal the belt now, only to take it away again doesn’t make much sense.
2. Marty Scurll vs. Punishment Martinez
This is the supposed number 1 contender match for the ROH title. Thus, it’s going to come as no surprise that Marty Scurll is going to win this. He’s the next in line for a title shot and is going to probably win the belt at Supercard of Honor. So, expect some kind of cheap trick to be employed by Scurll to win this match.
3. MCMG vs. The Briscoes
Any match featuring the Briscoes is going to be a brawl. As a matter of fact, the Machine Guns are in for the fight of their lives here. It’s likely ROH give their most decorated tag team another run with the belts. In other words, this won’t be a match for the weak at heart. Specifically, because this new version of Mark and Jay is as dangerous as its ever been.
4. Hung Bucks vs. SoCal Uncensored
I’m a big fan of SCU. With that being said, it’s unlikely they walk out of Vegas as Champs. With the stipulation being both Kaz and Daniels are gone from ROH at the end of the year if they can’t win gold, this isn’t the time for that streak to end. Hung Bucks will retain.
5. Cody vs. Matt Taven
Taven has proven time and time again that he’s one of the best in ROH. Cody can also make that claim. Furthermore, these two are some of the best the promotion has to offer. Additionally, going into Supercard of Honor, Cody should look strong for his match against Kenny Omega. Moreover, don’t expect Taven to win this match. Cody finally gets his ring back.
6. Flip Gordon vs. Hiromu Takahashi
These ROH vs. NJPW matches are tough to predict. In fact, Gordon has been one of the brightest young stars for Ring of Honor. Also, Takahashi is a star in the New Japan Jr. Heavyweight division. This will be a high-flying affair. In the upset, I predict Takahashi
to get the win.
This is one of the more stacked Anniversary shows Ring Of Honor has put on. There’s going to be at least one title change, the tag team titles. Indeed, the quality of product Ring Of Honor puts out is second to none. Thus, the 16th Anniversary show won’t disappoint. Especially. with all the heavy hitters of the promotion set to go. Hence, this will be a card for the ages.Follow @DGentleman9288
