NFL Free Agency Rumors: Five Landing Spots for Le’Veon Bell

One of the biggest names in NFL free agency for 2018 could be Pittsburgh Steelers RB, Le’Veon Bell. He will enter the market when the new league year starts on March 14. That is if the two sides do not reach a deal before then. However, a recent move made by Bell may indicate that the sides a far apart. Bell recently changed all his social media handles. Thus, removing all indications of the Pittsburgh Steelers in them. Is this coincidence? There usually is a statement made when an athlete makes a change such as this. Therefore, with saying that, we look at possible destinations for the Pro Bowl RB.

  1. Washington Redskins

The Redskins are in need of an all-around running back. When healthy they certainly have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. Now that they do not have to worry about giving big bucks to Kirk Cousins, this could be the type of move they make. After all, splashing in free agency is what Daniel Snyder likes to do best.

  1. San Francisco 49ers

Here is a team that is heavy on salary cap space. Currently, they have an estimated $72 million free to spend. While they still have Carlos Hyde on the roster, it is not certain he will remain. Bringing in a RB like Bell and teaming him with newly signed franchise QB Jimmy Garappolo gives the 49ers the makings of a scary offense in the NFC West.

  1. New York Jets

Gang Green is sitting pretty with $95 million in cap space. Grabbing a player the caliber of Le’Veon Bell and maybe one of the second-tier franchise QBs could be the steps the Jets need to make in order to move up in the AFC East.

  1. Houston Texans

Imagine Le’Veon Bell with Deshaun Watson, DeAndre Hopkins, and Will Fuller. Of Course, this would seal the deal on the fate of Lamar Miller. There have been some rumblings that Houston is not happy with his performance. Texas would have a new set of triplets in the state. Bill O’Brien and the Texans would make a push back to the top of the AFC South. In fact, they could be included in AFC Super Bowl talks.

  1. Cleveland Browns

This is the ideal option for Le’Veon Bell. First, they have all the money in the world to offer him. Second, and probably the most important, is that Bell could stick it to his former team. Twice a year. They could also team him up with a new franchise QB such as Cousins or AJ McCarron. Couple that with Josh Gordon, Corey Coleman, and defensive youth. Hence, the Cleveland Browns could make some noise in a weakening division.

While Le’Veon Bell reaching free agency in speculation, the possibility is there. As I stated in the open, athletes have ways of saying things without using words. Social Media is a strong communication tool. This could be the end of Killer Bs in the steel country.
