Orlando City Soccer Club: What Did The Lions Do During The Offseason?

The Orlando City Soccer Club has been extremely busy during the offseason, with the Lions making a multitude of moves. Some of the moves made a majority of fans scratch their heads, while others made fans jump for joy. To stay up to date with every transaction, here is a link to recap and show all the moves this offseason:

Here are a few transactions the Orlando City Soccer Club made this offseason.

It’s All About The Midfield

The Lions revamped their entire midfield, bringing in Josué Colemán, Cam Lindley, Chris Mueller, and Jose Villarreal just to name a few. After last season, seeing how the midfield could change the course of the game, the Lions noticed that it was their most scarce position as injuries hampered their season. With these new additions, Orlando City has the opportunity to stretch the field with an amazing midfield depth and skill at this position.

Awkward Cyle Conversation

Cyle Larin sure does know how to turn an entire city against him, then leave on terrible terms with Orlando City. Orlando picked up his last year option in his contract, yet, he and his agent misunderstood the contract and went overseas. After Orlando City consulted Larin and his representatives, Larin decided to continue his practicing at Bestikas in Europe. It was a bad breakup, and OCSC fans were disappointed in the star. Best of wishes to Larin in Bestikas, but Orlando City looks to bring home a championship without him.

Comeback Kid Stays Home

Dom Dwyer signed a three-year extension with Orlando City after his first-year stint with the club. Dom first arrived in Orlando back in their USL days on a loan, and helped win a title for the Lions back then! The Lions were able to also reel him into staying, by bringing his wife, Sydney, to the Orlando Pride. Dom was super excited to have his family play for Orlando, and both are looking to bring multiple championships back to Orlando!

With these new faces, and major transactions, which one was the most surprising to you? How do you feel about the Lions chances going into this season? Make sure to let us know if the comments below!
