Philadelphia Eagles: Super Bowl LII Win makes NFC East NFL’s best Division

Last Night the Philadelphia Eagles won their first ever Super Bowl. In the process, they have helped the NFC East do something no other division in football has done. Each team from the NFC East has now at least 1 Super Bowl title. All together as a division, they have 13 out of a possible 52 Super Bowls. With two of the teams not winning a Super Bowl since 1992 (Washington Redskins) and 1996 (Dallas Cowboys). For the fans of the Eagles, this Super Bowl victory puts an end to the no rings joke. They can now focus on making fun of the Cowboys not winning a title since 1996.

Best Division in the NFL?

I will tell you not only because the Eagles just made the NFC East the first division to win at least 1 Super Bowl team. There are other reasons why the NFC East is the best division in the NFL including the rivalries. Some of the NFL’s greatest players have come from the NFC East teams, I.E Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Lawrence Taylor, Brian Dawkins, Brian Westbrook, Reggie White, Michael Irvin, Donovan McNabb, Joe Theismann, and yes even Eli Manning. A lot of people believe the Cowboys should not be in the division based off of geographical location. They are a centrally located team but are in the NFC East meanwhile you have the Carolina Panthers in the NFC South that could be in the NFC East. Whatever side of the argument you are on there is no denying that this division is the best in the NFL.

How it’s not even close

The NFC East has 21 appearances in Super Bowls and has won 13 of them.  Second most appearances are by the AFC East and they have 20 with only 8 Championships (so they are 5 behind). The NFC East as a division has more Super Bowl victories than the AFC North, AFC South, and NFC South combined. That’s 3 divisions.  So while in closing Cowboys fans will be saying RIP to the ringless jokes for the Philadelphia Eagles. They, in turn, have cemented beyond any doubt that this is the best division in the NFL and they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.
