New York-New York Hotel and Casino: Don’t Ride The Big Apple Coaster

Without question, the Big Apple Coaster at the New York-New York Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is the worst ride I’ve ever been on. If you’ve ever been on this you’ll know exactly how bad it really is. And there really aren’t many saving graces for this awful experience.

Aside from a beautiful themed ride with nice views of Las Vegas, the Big Apple Coaster is a complete waste of time. Not to mention this will probably rough you up a little. Quite frankly, it’s about time New York, New York closes this ride and refurbishes it.

Togo isn’t well-known in the United States. The manufacturer primarily operates coasters in Japan. In fact, The Big Apple is one of their only rides outside of The Land Of The Rising Sun. And while I can’t speak for some of their other coasters, I’d say that’s probably a good thing.

The Big Apple starts off quite promising. It has a well-themed station, and the lift hill gives you great views of Las Vegas. Nevertheless, that’s where the fun stops. Also, you’re going to get beaten up bad by this coaster. The loop is especially painful.

This coaster should only be done by those who really need the coaster credit. It’s not fun by any means. With the decision to add VR, this will become even worse. The main benefit to The Big Apple was the themeing, and taking that away leaves this with absolutely nothing.

I’m not one to bash and complain too heavily about a coaster. We all have different opinions, but if you like this coaster you’re a tad out of your mind. Trust me when I say that this isn’t something you want to do. I myself just wanted the credit. And I regretted that after I got off.

If you’re in Las Vegas and want a coaster fix, go to Adventure Dome at Circus Circus. In fact, it’s there you’ll find El Loco. You’re better off riding that than The Big Apple. Again, if you have any ideas to ride this coaster at New York-New York Hotel and Casino, please don’t. Hence, it’s really that bad.
