Super Bowl LII Zach Ertz

Super Bowl LII: Philadelphia Eagles – For Zach Ertz it is all in the Family

For many boys growing up and playing professional football is a dream. Capping that dream by playing in a Super Bowl is even better. Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz had both dreams comes true. Dream one came true in 2013 when the Eagles selected him in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. They selected him 35th overall. The second came true on Sunday when the Eagles won the NFC Championship and will be playing in Super Bowl LII.

Ertz has been nothing but spectacular for the Philadelphia Eagles. However, this ability comes as no surprise. His mother knew he would be a terrific athlete even before his stardom. He can also thank his father who was a star in football at Lehigh University.

Nonetheless, it is not just about his immediate family. Now it is about his Philadelphia Eagles family. Zach Ertz and Eagles QB Nick Foles have a chemistry. This became evident back in 2014. Foles found Ertz 58 times for 702 yards that season.

His continued growth as one of the best TEs in football prompted the Philadelphia Eagles to sign him to an extension. On January 25th, 2016, Ertz and the Eagles reached an agreement on a 5-year $42 million contract extension.

Finally, the Ertz athletic family ties do not just relate to the first two above. A boy’s other dream is to grow up and marry himself a hot wife. Zach Ertz not only married a nice lady but she is an athlete as well. He said I do to Julie Johnston on March 26th, 2017. Julie is the starting Center back on the USWNT.

So for Zach Ertz, it is not just about a game. It is about family. From when he was a kid to his recent marriage. The family has had a huge impact on his life.

Do you think Zach Ertz is one of the best in the game? Can he help lead the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl LII Championship? Leave a comment below.
