WWE: Please Don’t Let Ronda Rousey Win The Women’s Royal Rumble
Ronda Rousey should not win the Royal Rumble. As many expect, the former UFC Champion will make her WWE debut during the women’s rumble. That’s all fine and dandy, but winning the match should be out of the question.
Nothing against Ronda Rousey, surely she’s going to be a great wrestler in WWE, but to take away a Royal Rumble win from the likes of Asuka, Nia Jax, Sasha Banks, or Bayley doesn’t make much sense. It’s obviously a money thing if Rousey wins, and that’s how the WWE will see it.
Vince McMahon is all about the almighty dollar. He sees the dollar signs with Rousey. She’s the meal ticket to Wrestelmania buys. It’s obvious, as any idiot can see this from a mike away. This doesn’t mean giving her the Rumble win is the best idea.
Perhaps setting up a feud with her and someone such as Asuka or Nia would be of more interest than the belt. Sorry, but giving Rousey an immediate title shot out of the gate might mean money, but it’s unfair to those that have paid their dues within WWE.
It’s obvious that Vince wants the first winner of the women’s Royal Rumble to be someone special. And unfortunately, Rousey fits the bill for that. Not too sure why Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Bayley, Sasha Banks, Asuka, Nia, any one of them can win. You don’t need Rousey to win the Rumble to look dominant. In fact, you don’t need her to win to set up an epic money-making match.
If you have Asuka/Rousey at Mania, not even for the title, It would be a huge match that will create a lot of publicity and interest for WWE. Let Alexa and or Charlotte defend their titles against some other wrestlers. Rousey doesn’t need the title to get over. She’ll be a ratings boost without the belt.
At some point, when she’s more in-ring ready, then you give her a women’s title. It’s just not right giving the belt to her now, given the lack of experience she has in a WWE ring. There are many other deserving winners of the Rumble push. Ronda Rousey doesn’t need it. Although, she’ll more than likely be the first Women’s Royal Rumble winner.
