Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle – A review of the 20 year sequel (Spoiler Alert)
I went and seen the new movie Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. I have to admit at first I was skeptical. After all, how could you replace someone like Robin Williams? How would the new story play against the old movie? Of course, the actors and actresses involved in this movie had to do their part. But I believe the storyline was perfect it went hand in hand with the original movie. In the movie, there was even an easter egg to the late great Robin Williams character Alan Parrish.
There had been some discussion over which actor was the best for the movie. I will say that Jack Black’s character was unbelievably funny because the writers trapped a girl inside a man’s body. This movie starts off in 1996 with a character who disappears suddenly. His dad finds the Jumanji board game on the beach and brings it home to him. The son whose name is Alex in the movie (played by Nick Jonas), opens it and says “who still plays board games”. As we know the Jumanji game is magical so it turns into a video game. Which prompts Alex to play it and causes his disappearance. Fast Forward to 20 years later and 4 kids who have nothing in common together get detention.
While in detention Fridge finds the old game system and decides to hook it up. And now the 4 kids in detention are now in the Jungle of Jumanji. They are told they are now different people and that they need to return the stone back to the Jaguars eye to save Jumanji. During this time they also learn that they only have 3 lives or they die for real. I won’t spoil the ending for any of you but I will tell you that all the actors in this movie did a great job and this movie far exceeded the first Jumanji in my opinion. It had everything from laughing to even a few tears at the end of the movie. Two thumbs up for this movie and would love to see these guys again.Follow @Espowrites
