Washington Redskins: Dear Santa, Please have Redskins Park in your Route

Dear Santa (Re: the Washington Redskins),

As you well know, I am a die-hard, ever-loving fan of the Washington Redskins. 2017 has been an up and down year for my team and me. Currently sitting at 6-8 and not making the playoffs there are a couple of things that the team needs to improve the 2018 version of the Washington Redskins. Redskins fans across the country would be ever so kind if you could grant these three things this holiday season.

  1. A Number 1 Wide Receiver

2017 offseason saw the loss of two 1,000-yard receivers. Pierre Garcon signed with the San Francisco 49ers and DeSean Jackson with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So, we tried to replace them with an ineffective Terrelle Pryor Sr. and Josh Doctson. While Doctson has shown promise, Pryor was a failed experiment. $8 million that we could have used elsewhere. If you could just please send us a top-notch wide receiver in free agency we would be so ever grateful. Hence, a player like Jarvis Landry, Devante Adams, or even a trade for Demaryius Thomas could improve this offense immensely.

  1. Health

The Washington Redskins have the third most players on injured reserve in 2017. Most of those have come at key positions. Center Spencer Long, Guard Shawn Lauvao, LB Mason Foster, LB Will Compton, WR Terrelle Pryor Sr., RB Chris Thompson, and DT Jonathan Allen just to name a few. Had this team ben healthy for 2017 I believe they could have competed with some of the best teams in the league. It is hard to overcome 22 o-line combinations, defensive inabilities to stop the run, and no hands to catch the ball. A healthy 2018 would be well-respected.

  1. Sign Kirk Cousins to a Long-Term Contract

It has been decades since the Washington Redskins have had a franchise QB. Thus, Kirk Cousins is just that. I know that he may not be happy with how the organization has treated him. However, as Santa Claus could you please talk him into playing out his career as a member my beloved Redskins. He is a perennial top 10 QB. Additionally, if you are able to grant wish #1 it would only make him and his offense that much better. Nonetheless, I do not want to have to go through two or three more years of QB development. This wish is the most important.

So Santa, Washington Redskins fans across the country would be forever grateful if you brought us these three things. Many may hate the Kirk Cousins wish, however, they are fans of players, not the team. In fact, he is what is best for the Redskins going forward.

I know you are busy with the other 31 teams in the league. I hope you can consider our wishes. Thank you for your time.  Merry Christmas.
