WWE: What holds as the future for Dolph Ziggler after “walking out”
Dolph Ziggler has had an interesting WWE career. He came up with the Spirit Squad in the early 2000’s. Over his WWE run, he has held multiple titles from the US title to the World Heavyweight Title. Since he turned heel last year, it has been a different Dolph Ziggler. It seems that Dolph Ziggler has become more about himself and less about the fans, the people who have helped him get to where he is today.
On the latest episode of Smackdown, Dolph Ziggler was set to cut an in-ring promo on him winning the US title on Sunday at Clash of Champions. He talked a little about the win at the start of his promo, it then took an interesting turn. He would start attacking the fans and saying that they don’t deserve his presence. After this happened, he would then lay the belt on the mat and would walk out of the ring. This has sparked such a debate in many wrestling groups that I am seeing a variety of things.
I am seeing stuff that people suspect that he is retiring or that he is giving up the belt. Personally, I don’t buy any of that. If you listen to his promo he has one good line. I am paraphrasing here, but it was something along the line as saying that the belt doesn’t mean you’re the top. You could make the argument that was what happened with Jinder Mahal. However, I do have a few theories regarding the belt.
One theory I have is that this was his way of doing a CM Punk. There’s a chance that he is walking out of the WWE by giving up the title. There have been reports that he won’t be resigning with the WWE when his contract is up. So it is possible that he is done with the WWE. All I am going to say is that Smackdown programming will be very interesting over the next several weeks heading into the Royal Rumble,Follow @jon_blayne
