Western Kentucky:Three Keys To Victory at Cure Bowl

After Western Kentucky University had a bumpy roller coaster ride of a season, the look to face Georgia State in the Auto Nation Cure Bowl on December 16th. Western Kentucky ended the season at (6-6), after many believed they would be just as good of a team like earlier years, yet were unable to find their true identity on offense. Nevertheless, Western Kentucky is looking to win their fourth straight bowl game, and can do so by following these keys to victory!

Get Up Early!
After the phenomenal offensive season Western Kentucky has last year, you would assume that they would pick up right were they left off at. Instead, they were struggling all year to find their identity, and while it maybe to late to find the identity, they just have to find something to work. Western Kentucky needs to let Mike White throw the ball down the field and get the scoring started early, this way he and the offense can control the time of possession after being up a generous amount of points. Mike White has still been playing very well this season, but has not been able to receive the help from the run game throughout the season. Mike White has to throw for over 400 yards and 3 touchdowns to ensure a victory on Saturday.

Stop The Run!
Unlike Western Kentucky, Georgia State has been able to balance out the offense relatively well this season. Running the ball effectively and playing off of the play action to confuse the defense. But, if Western Kentucky can stop the run early, and make Georgia State throw the ball down the field to attempt to score some points, Georgia State’s QB Manning is known for making some mistakes when throwing deep. So if Western Kentucky can stop the run and put pressure on Manning, Western Kentucky can walk away with a victory.

Florida’s Hot Streak!
Western Kentucky University should look into moving down to Florida to play their games from now on. Since Western Kentucky is currently 2-0 in Florida Bowl Games, looking to make it three in a row in Florida. Western Kentucky has played lights out in Florida Bowl Games, and can continue that Florida Hot Streak, by beating Georgia State on Saturday.

With the aforementioned keys listed, if Western Kentucky can execute on these keys, they should be able to run away with their fourth straight bowl game. Western Kentucky will need to make sure that they do not get flustered and make big time mistakes, that could cost them the game as well. Be sure to tune in on December 16th at 2:30 Pm EST to watch Western Kentucky take on Georgia State in the Auto Nation Cure Bowl.
