Cleveland Browns: Dear Santa, What Can You Get Fans in 2018?
I’ve been a good boy this year. Why is it that my football team is in such shambles? Cleveland Browns fans don’t have much to be excited about on Christmas. If Santa is real, he’d read my letter and give me all the gifts I want this year. It’s not asking for much, and the City of Cleveland would be forever grateful to everyone at the North Pole.
1. A Franchise QB
I’ve wanted one of these for years. It’s about time the Browns went out and got a franchise QB. They’ve had plenty of shots in the past, Carson Wentz, DeShaun Watson, Jimmy Garoppolo, all names that the Cleveland Browns organization has let slip by.
If you want to evolve into a Super Bowl contender, you need to find a franchise QB. No more of the trading down in the draft. If you have a chance at a Wentz or Watson, take him! Browns fans are sick of the Brandon Weeden, Johnny Manziel, Cody Kessler, and DeShone Kizer picks. It’s time we find the next Aaron Rodgers. I don’t feel this is too much to ask for.
2. An offensive Coordinator
Hue Jackson can’t call the plays anymore. He’s got so much on his plate, so much pressure, that he can’t manage a game effectively. The Browns need an offensive coordinator to help him. Too long have I seen ineffective short yardage plays from this team. Get Hue some help! I do think he’s the man for the job, but he can’t do it alone. Furthermore, if John Dorsey wants to help this team succeed he’ll get an OC immediately!
3. A Clean Josh Gordon
We’ve seen this song and dance from Josh Gordon before. In fact, he looks like the best WR in football. Only to have him get caught with some weed. One more time and he’s effectively gone from the NFL. He’s looked like a number 1 receiver during his two games back.
Gordon has brought a spark to the offense, upping the play of all those who share the field with him. Thus, if he can just stay clean, the Browns have a shot at becoming a respectable offense. Hence, this goes hand in hand with wish 2. Moreover, get an OC that will cater to Gordon’s skill set and watch the points fly.
4. A Healthy Myles Garrett
The defensive line is so much different with a healthy Garrett. He not only impacts the line but the entire defense. He just needs to stay healthy. It’s been a long time since the Browns have had such a defensive force on the field. Nonetheless, if Garrett plays anywhere near the potential we’ve seen in college and his first few pro games, this is a major difference maker for the Cleveland Browns
So, Santa if you’re out there, please get me what I want this year. I promise I’ll be a good boy all year. Also, as a sign of good faith, I’ve left you some milk and cookies.[DanielTwitter]
