UCF Knights Football names Former Mizzou OC Josh Heupel Head Coach

In a stunning turn of events, UCF Athletic Director Danny White once again pulls a rabbit from his hat.  Danny White went on to hire Josh Heupel. His name wasn’t even really in the discussion for this job. He not only knew enough to go get an offensive minded coach so that this offense wouldn’t miss a beat. He also was able to keep this secret from everyone as we all found out after the players found out. This hire is a truly great hire as Mizzou finished 7th in offense in the nation and 1st in passing. And keep in mind he did this against that “Vaunted SEC Defenses”.  So I can’t imagine what he will do against less inferior defenses. They also managed to bring in Randy Shannon as Defensive Coordinator.

If UCF decides to keep Troy Walters on as Offensive Coordinator and he would like to stay.  Then this teams coaching staff will be better than the one leaving currently. This is a huge splash for UCF they can start recruiting now while the team prepares for the bowl game. With Randy Shannon coming aboard that will give UCF something they have never had before. A heavy presence in the Miami area as Randy Shannon is one of the best recruiters in that area. His last job was Defensive Coordinator at Florida. Florida’s defense is the only reason for winning games this year.

Overall this will help further put UCF on the map but the big game is still on 1/1/2018 because a win against Auburn on National TV will solidify everything UCF was working for. This hiring is showing you that UCF is a prime destination and that with the continued success they will become a power 5 school with or without the conference. Sooner or Later teams will start having to answer the bell when UCF knocks and says come play us.
