Denver Broncos week 12

Denver Broncos: Three keys to watch against the Oakland Raiders

For the Denver Broncos, a win this week goes a long way. Not only is it Raiders week, but it would also snap a six-game losing streak. They are counting on their third QB of the season to lead the way. Paxton Lynch gets the start. Can Paxton be the change the team needs to get a win? What are other keys that could help? Let us tell you with our weekly keys to a Broncos victory.

  1. Defense

The Denver Broncos defense is still one of the best in the NFL. This a prime game for them to get back on track. Derrick Carr has not been very good of late. He is only averaging 1 TD per game. That play right into the arms of the Broncos. They can stack the box against the run game and play man to man on the outside. I believe that this is where the Broncos will excel on Sunday.

The one concern that comes to mind is Raiders TE Jared Cook. The Broncos LBs have trouble covering the TE. They may need to use a lot of nickel packages and place CB Bradley Roby in that coverage.

  1. Bill Musgrave

After the Denver Broncos fired their former offensive coordinator, Mike McCoy they promoted Bill Musgrave to the same position. Additionally, Vance Joseph gave Musgrave the full play-calling duties as well. Thus, he will have to be on top of his game. He will have to keep his cool so he can keep his young QB in the game. It will also be up to Musgrave to maintain balance in the offense.

  1. Paxton Lynch

Lynch is the third QB that the Denver Broncos will use this season. They started their season with Trevor Siemian. The team benched him because he was seemingly ineffective. After that, they started Brock Osweiler. Even though the offense looked more effective, they still decided to move to Lynch. Further, Osweiler will be the inactive QB this week.

At 3-7, the Denver Broncos are still mathematically eligible to make the playoffs. IN the AFC West, it is not far-fetched that they can still win the division. However, they would have to win out and get A LOT of help. In fact, stranger things have happened.
