C-USA: The Final Two Weeks of C-USA Football
With the C-USA regular season ending in two weeks, there are some big-time matchups to look forward to. With the Western division locked down by North Texas, after their win last week, we now look to find the winner of the Eastern division. While other teams look to find their first win of the season, become bowl eligible, or just finish the season off on a high note. I outline the C-USA Week 12 games and everything to watch for below:
Middle Tenn @ WKU
Both Middle Tenn and WKU are one game away from becoming bowl eligible. However, only one will be after this game. Be that as it may, the passing attack from Middle Tenn is becoming overwhelming to their opponents. As long as their defense can stop the QB White and the passing game, Middle Tenn should pull out a victory.
Rice @ Old Dominion
Old Dominion is looking to win the final two games to become bowl eligible, and with the impressive victory last week, they will need to do the dam strategy to win this week. Rice almost upset Southern Miss last week, but Rice will need to run the ball just as last week to win, but Rice will cause a costly turnover that will ultimately lose them the game.
LTech @ UTEP
UTEP is still searching for that first win, but with LTech and the high-powered offense, UTEP will not get their first win of the season, as LTech will finally become bowl eligible this month.
Charlotte @ Southern Miss
Southern Miss clinched a bowl game last week and should roll through Charlotte, who is sitting on one win on the season. Furthermore, for Charlotte to pull off the upset, they will need to be dominant on offense. On the whole, this is something they have been unable to do all year-long.
UAB @ Florida
The two team rescheduled this game due to Hurricane Irma earlier this season. Yet UAB will benefit from that. Consequently, UAB is on a roll this season and will look to run all over this defensively poor Florida Gators team.
Army @ North Texas
Army is looking to continue their winning streak, and run all over North Texas. However, if North Texas can slow down Army’s dominant run game, they should walk out with a victory.
FIU @ FAU
This lesser-known in-state rivalry is honestly one of the best in the state. Both teams are exceeding expectations, and both are looking to continue their winning ways. But after FIU fell apart against Old Dominion last week, expect FAU to run all over FIU.
Marshall @ UTSA
Marshall, with the strong defensive game last week to close out the potential comeback, should handle UTSA. UTSA is a team that fell off since the start of the season.
With all the games outlined above, the C-USA current standings are below:
