Is MoviePass too good to be true

If you’re one of the people who haven’t heard about MoviePass yet, look it up. For $9.95 a month you can see one movie per day, every day of the month. In your head your probably thinking “So what’s the catch?”, so WBLZMedia signed up for a MoviePass to see if it were too good to be true. So what did we find?

So far, while it seems too good to be true, it’s not. MoviePass is exactly what it’s advertised to be. Signup at MoviePass and you’re good to go. The hardest part of the whole ordeal is waiting for your card to arrive while you anxiously plan out your next movie.

Coming into the holiday movie rush, signing up for the service was a must. With movies like Justice League and Star Wars: The Last Jedi coming out we hoped on this bandwagon quick. The best part about MoviePass is now you don’t have to decide to wait until something comes out on DVD to go see it. Before a movie that was on the border of something you’d go out and see, now you don’t have to feel guilty because you’re not paying the $12-13 bucks a ticket. You don’t have to pick and choose which movie you want to go see either. If you want to see one movie and your friend another? The only issue is deciding which to see the first day, and which to see the second. You can go to the movies every day of the month if you want.

So how easy is MoviePass to use? Simple:

1. Download the app.

2. Select your showtime and theater.

3. Check in.

4. “Pay” with your MoviePass card.

That’s it! Enjoy your movie. The best part is, you can still redeem your rewards points if your theater offers them. So rack up all the points you want towards a free soda or popcorn. It’s a win-win.

If you’re one of the people who have to see a movie in 3D or in IMAX, then MoviePass isn’t for you. So far there’s no plan to offer those viewing experiences, but fingers crossed it’s somewhere down the road. Another draw back is not being able to buy more than one ticket with the app. So if you’re a family of 2 or more, you each have to have your own device, your own app, and your own card. But other than that, the service was easy to use, little to know inconvenience, and can be used at most theaters. So if you’re a big movie goer who doesn’t have the cash to see all the movies you want, make sure to sign up for MoviePass and back enjoying movies. Overall experience: 4.5/5! [RickTwitter]
