C-USA: Recap of Wild Week of C-USA Football
With C-USA football on Friday and Saturday night, delighted football fans were everywhere. Each game had a lot of meaning behind them, between determining who will be in first place in C-USA Conference, along with a team attempting to find their first win. With that being said, there was a multitude of exciting games, and here is the recap outlined below:
Marshall 25 vs FAU 30
FAU has control of this game from the starting whistle. Especially with Marshall’s QB throwing FOUR Interceptions, allowing FAU to run the ball and the clock, Marshall was unable to get a grip on the game at all.
WKU 17 vs Vanderbilt 31
WKU was never able to find the lead in this game. Hence, they played from behind the entire time. On the other hand, Vandy was able to throw the ball down the field multiple times to get the W at home.
Rice 21 vs UAB 52
UAB literally came out the gates scoring. As a matter of fact, the 28 points unanswered that put Rice in a hole they could not climb out of. Also, UAB has three passing TDs and three rushing TDs, from one player. Overall, allowing them to run away early with the game.
North Texas 24 vs LTech 23
LTech with another heartbreaking loss, in the final quarter of the game. Nonetheless, North Texas was able to get the game-winning run with six minutes left. Above all, their defense shut down LTech to avoid the comeback.
Charlotte 0 vs Old Dominion 6
A low scoring game with practically no offense on either side. In fact, Old Dominion was able to kick two field goals to shut out Charlotte.
UTSA 7 vs FIU 14
A tough defensive game from FIU came and showed up. Yet the game remained scoreless until FIU dropped two TDs in the third quarter, and never looked back afterward.
UTEP 3 vs Middle Tennessee 30
Midd Tenn was able to score three TDs through the air, and UTEP was unable to find their first win of the season still.
Southern Miss 10 vs Tennessee 24
Unfortunately, Southern Miss was unable to complete the upset. Especially since they did not score their first touchdown until the fourth quarter. Consequently, Tennessee ran away with the game early and snapped their four-game losing streak.
