Summary: Calculator second against a weaker field in the Pat O’Brien.  Even his best back races suggest he is in over his head here. Defrong defending champ in the 2016 Sprint everyone will have to beat him. American Pastime very sharp in a close second at the Gallant Bob, much tougher crowd in this one, not completely out of it, Does have the most winningest jockey of this race in the saddle in Nakatani. B Squared just beat CA-breds on the downhill course at Santa Anita, another one in over his head against betters and switching back to dirt. Whitmore has four stakes wins this year at six furlongs but looks to be outclassed in this one.

Mind Your Biscuits – his 6th place finish in the Forego was his worst effort in a year when at his best will have a major say. Takaful – for a while he was what Forest Gump would have called a box of chocolates,  you never knew what you were going to get. He’s consistent now can play a major role in this race. Roy H had a legit excuse for his second place finish in his only loss this year all other dirt starts have been excellent, top choice. Ransom the Moon comes off a dull performance behind Roy H but has won at the distance and over the track in the Bing Crosby.  Imperial Hint – don’t know how good he is yet because we haven’t seen his best yet no one has a total wild card.
