University of Central Florida Knights Football Set School Record for Points

Saturday night the Knights of UCF took on Austin Peay and managed to score the most points in school history. The team has had a goal this season to continue to improve their offense and so far so good. The Knights scored 73 on Saturday night and it felt as if they could score at will. For the third time, this season UCF scored 60 or more points in a game.  The defense which had been strong for the most part all season showed signs of weakness against an FCS team. UCF defense was missing tackles and taking bad penalties, this allowed Austin Peay to score 33 in the loss. Also the highest point total UCF has allowed this season.

The game was very interesting in the first half and it looked like Austin Peay was going to give the Knights all they could handle. The score at halftime was 45-26. Although the game felt like it was a lot closer. But the defense made adjustments and settled down. Outscoring Austin Peay in the second half 28-7 on the way to the 73-33 victory.  Because of McKenzie Milton impressive QB play as he was 24-26 for 275 yards and 3 TDs through the air and added a rushing TD.

That brings his totals to 129-177 for a comp % of 72.9 1997 yards 19 passing TDs and 3 INTs.  Compared to last season he only threw for 1983 yards in 10 games last year. It’s actually sad that no one is considering him a favorite for the Heisman.  He has the Knights undefeated and looking at a New Years 6 bowl or more.

As Coach Frost said the guys need to take this one game at a time and play the game in front of them. Because we all know that there is a huge matchup looming at Spectrum Stadium on Black Friday. And if the team is looking ahead instead of worrying about the matchup in front of them they could take a loss.  The next 3 games for the Knights are SMU in Dallas, UConn at home, and Temple in Philadelphia. Anyone of those games could bite the Knights in the butt if they do not focus 100%.  Stay tuned to see what happens for the Knights and the rest of this magical season.
