C-USA: Second Half Offense Fuels Multiple Comebacks
For one thing, there is nothing like an amazing week in NCAA C-USA Football. Especially, since a majority of these games were close to the word games. In fact, almost every game came down to the final minutes of the fourth quarter each. On the whole, here is a game recap of each game listed below:
UTSA 31 at UTEP 14
UTEP was unable to avoid multiple turnovers in this game. Thus, allowing UTSA to run away with this game. Hence making UTEP continue to have a winless season.
UAB 30 at Southern Miss 12
Southern Miss was doing everything right in the first half of this game. At any rate, after halftime, something clicked in the UAB locker room. Consequently, they scored 23 unanswered with over 200 rushing yards from UAB RB Brown.
Old Dominion 38 at North Texas 45
Old Dominion was looking for the upset and was creating the perfect formula to beat North Texas. However, ODU had two costly turnovers. Additionally, the Monarchs allowed North Texas to score 10 points unanswered in the final quarter. Given these points, it caused them to lose the game.
FAU 42 at Western Kentucky 28
WKU led this game all the way until the 4th Quarter when FAU was able to score 22 points unanswered, and a majority of it was through RB Singletary, with 244 rushing yards and 4 TDs to seal the victory on the road for FAU.
Louisiana Tech 42 at Rice 28
Rice kept this game close all the way up until the final minute of the 4th Quarter. Surprising, since Rice was unable to get the offense rolling. Not to mention, their defense allowed LTech to score 2 TDs in the final minute of the 4th Quarter!
FIU 41 at Marshall 30
FIU’s defense was able to come up big against Marshall. Above all, causing multiple Marshall turnovers to give FIU the upset victory this week.
Nonetheless, with the late comebacks this week, shakeups are continuing to happen. As a result, we list the C-USA updated standings below:
