C-USA Preview: Countdown To Bowl Season

The excitement of C-USA teams embarking on another week of college football is about to be here. With a majority of the games being against conference rivals, the conference is looking to solidify their potential Bowl teams. Some big-time matchups, a battle of the Texas teams, and teams still looking for their first win. We outline each game below, with what to watch for and what the teams would need to do to pull out a win.

UTSA is practically doubling the amount of total yards UTEP is averaging a game. UTEP is either going to have to make some big plays defensively or avoid making costly mistakes on offense in order to win this game. Unfortunately, UTEP will not get their first win this year, as UTSA will run away with this one.

UAB at Southern Miss
This is one of the best games in the conference this week, and while the line favors Southern Miss, I believe the passing attack that UAB has been able to find throughout the season will launch them in a close matchup for another UAB big time win!

Old Dominion at North Texas
Each team is producing a large amount of offense, just in different aspects. Old Dominion will have a good chance if they can get the run game going early, but North Texas and the passing game will win this game late.

FAU at Western Kentucky
A key factor in this game will be FAU and its ability to run the ball. But don’t count Mike White and The Hilltoppers out, as they will win this game late, just like they did in the previous week.

Louisiana Tech at Rice
LTech is looking to come back strong, after losing in double overtime last week, and will be able to do so against a one-win Rice team. Rice will need to not have any turnovers and play stellar defense for them to have a chance against LTech.

FIU at Marshall
Marshall ran all over their previous opponent, but it will not be as simple with FIU coming to town. Marshall will have to establish the run game early and get the FIU defense tired, but FIU should prevail in this upset game of the week.

Be sure to check back with us for a recap of the games, and see who will be in the lead of the conference as well!
