Universal Orlando Needs To Replace Terminator 2: 3D With Pitch Perfect Attraction

What’s going to replace Terminator 2: 3-D Battle Across Time at Universal Studios Orlando? With the attraction now closed, speculation has been growing as to what the park has up its sleeve. All we know is that in its place, we will see a new “live action experience based on a high-energy Universal franchise.” That gives us plenty of things to choose from, but what could it be? What does Universal Orlando have in store for us next?

If I were to place bets, I’d say the new attraction is centered around Pitch Perfect. It makes perfect sense, as the franchise is one of Universal’s most popular films. And seeing as it’s got a massive following, a new show based around Pitch Perfect would probably bring the park a lot of extra guests through the turnstiles.

The description says a “high-energy Universal franchise”. And what’s more high-energy than Pitch Perfect? Imagine an a capella singing show that blends music with lighting, special effects, and crowd interaction. It might not seem like an ideal choice given the Terminator was such an action based attraction, but it has got potential.

If a Pitch Perfect show was made for Universal Orlando, that would make a ton of sense. The franchise is one of the studios most profitable film franchises. The two films have made just under $300 million. And with a third movie on the way, that number will only go up.

A lot of Universal Orlando park guests would enjoy a Pitch Perfect attraction. It’s fun for the Family, and gives the park a signature stage show, unlike the 3D Terminator which wasn’t family friendly nor a quality stage production.

The music for the show could be a mix of songs from the three films and new mash-ups. What’s best is every show could be different, as each set list could be changed with every performance. That just adds to the attraction, as some might go to one or two showings a day.

It’s possible Universal Orlando goes in another direction completely and doesn’t do anything family related like Pitch Perfect. But it makes sense to milk one of your most popular film trilogies at your park. If it happens or not is yet to be seen, but it’s a good idea.
