Lio Rush headed to NXT

Look Out NXT, Lio Rush Is Ready For The Main Event

It’s time WWE starts shifting its focus to the new stars of the Cruiserweight division. While nothing is wrong with the current batch of stars, there are many who now sit in NXT that are in dire need of a call-up to the main roster. In time, one name that will highlight the division is Lio Rush.

A very green prospect in the wrestling world, there’s still plenty for Rush to learn before he hits the main roster. That doesn’t mean he will not become a show stealer at some point in the next year. The 22-year-old has the ability to become a star at the NXT level. In the process, he can develop into an excellent Cruiserweight.

In such a short career, Rush has already accomplished so much. He’s been in promotions such as Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Guerilla, and Combat Zone Wrestling ( Where he was the CZW Wired Champion). Rush has also teamed with current WWE NXT superstar, Velveteen Dream (Patrick Clark), whom he had his first match with on NXT.

Rush didn’t spend much time on the indie scene before making his way to NXT. Some say that he needed more seasoning before the jump. However, with matches against some of the best in the business, such as Ricochet, Michael Elgin, and Jay Lethal, the résumé kind of spoke for itself. There wasn’t much more Rush needed to accomplish on the indie scene.

Now in the WWE, Lio Rush is one of the companies brightest young stars. He’s got the moves that will make fans jaws drop (just watch his first NXT match), and the charisma to boot. He’d make the perfect cruiserweight, and, with enough time, a champ.

It would seem that NXT would be his home for at least a year. Putting him in feuds with wrestlers such as Velveteen Dream, Aleister Black, or even a Johnny Gargano would really help boost his stock. While Rush may never become NXT Champion, WWE is going to groom him into a star for 205 Live.

Don’t count out Lio Rush when it comes to being a breakout NXT star on the main roster.  He is almost a guaranteed lock to make it to 205 Live. This wrestler is one name to keep an eye on for the future.
