C-USA: Dramatic Finishes On Homecoming Week
C-USA Homecoming Week was this week with big-time conference games affecting the outcome for all teams and their bowl game chance. it was an amazing two nights of college football. With games on Friday and Saturday night, C-USA was able to take a stronghold of the primetime games, and have some very close and exciting games. Below is a recap of this weekends C-USA games.
Western Kentucky 35, Old Dominion 31
WKU QB Mike White was able to lead this team over Old Dominion, able to throw 5 TDs for the second week in a row, along with scoring 14 unanswered in the fourth quarter.
Marshall 38, Middle Tennessee 10
Marshall ran all over Mid Tenn, scoring 4 rushing touchdowns and allowing on 10 points from the Mid Tenn offense.
North Texas 31, Florida Atlantic 69
North Texas was unable to stop FAU and their high-powered offense. FAU scored on their first 11 drives, and put up over 800 yards of offense, a C-USA record!
UAB 24, Charlotte 25
Charlotte was able to score 10 unanswered in the 4th quarter to go into overtime. UAB was able to score in OT, but when Charlotte scored, instead of going for the tie, they went for two and won their first game of the season!
Southern Mississippi 34, Louisiana Tech 27
USM was able to make the unlikely comeback story true, and upset LTech with 11 unanswered to finish the 4th quarter, and in second OT, scoring the game-winning TD.
Rice 7, UT-San Antonio 20
UTSA was able to lead the entire game, and give their fan base an immaculate win against Rice for their homecoming night. UTSA started the night off with a defensive touchdown and never looked back.
