C-USA: Last Minute Stops Make For Great Games

With all of the in-conference matchups going on in the C-USA this weekend, we were bound for some last drama and to the wire games. Some games were only a point differential, while others were blowouts. Here is a recap of the most recent games listed below:

Florida Intl 17, Middle Tennessee 37
FIU was unable to get the offense going, and Midd Tenn RB Thomas was able to get life in with three TDs on only six carries. Midd Tenn was able to just overpower the FIU defense.

Louisiana Tech 22, UAB 23
UAB was able to pull off the upset at home, riding the wave of their RB Brown who had 165 yards of rushing. LTech attempted a late comeback, but had their game-winning field goal blocked!

Marshall 14, Charlotte 3
Marshall kept this game close, scoring only two touchdowns against the winless Charlotte. But with Marshall’s defense able to step up and keep Charlotte to only three points, they were able to secure the victory.

Florida Atlantic 58, Old Dominion 28
FAU practically doubled every touchdown that Old Dominion put up every quarter. With QB Driskel scoring 4 TDs by himself and FAU scoring a total of 8 TDs, Old Dominions defense was unable to keep up.

Army 49, Rice 12
Rice was able to stop the passing attack from Army, but Army ran away with this game early and quickly. Rice was unable to help their defense, when the offense gave up 4 turnovers on 4 straight possession, along with 2 other turnovers throughout the game.

Southern Mississippi 31, UT-San Antonio 29
South Miss was able to hand UTSA their first loss of the season. While the game went back and forth the whole time, Southern Miss was able to put up 21 unanswered helping run away with the game.

Western Kentucky 15, UTEP 14
UTEP was looking for their first win, and after a tough battle with WKU, they will still be looking. UTEP was leading in this game early, but a late third quarter TD by WKU was able to secure the victory.
