Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Keys To The Victory Over NY Giants
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took on the New York Giants in Tampa, Florida on Sunday at 4:30 P.M., and it was a big game early on in the season. Reason for this being was that Tampa was needing to win this game after being embarrassed by the Minnesota Vikings, the Bucs needed a “pick me up” of a win to get back into the groove of things. While the Giants were still searching for their first win, going 0-4 to start the season out, would ultimately conclude their season.
Luckily, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers came out to play and with Jameis Winston throwing three touchdowns, not creating any mistakes, along with Head Coach Dirk Kutter successfully running the ball against the Giants defense, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were able to squeeze a last-second field by Nick Folk to solidify the victory and move The Tampa Bay Buccaneers to 2-1. Here are three major keys that helped lead the Bucs to a victory over the Giants listed below:
1.) No Martin, No Problem!
I have stated before, that if the Bucs do not establish a run game, and have at least 100 yards of rushing each game than they would be unsuccessful in the win column. Against the Giants, the Bucs Offense rushed for 111 yards, including J.Rodgers rushing for over 80 yards. The Bucs balanced the offense out with the run game effectively, having the run-pass ratio about 40:60. The Bucs need to make sure they continue to implement the run game more, especially with the return of Doug Martin next week.
2.)Thanks For The Time!
Jameis Winston is screaming this to his offensive line, along with buying them dinner after the matchup against the Giants. Between the play calling, and the mobility of Winston, Jameis had a decent amount of time in the pocket, allowing him to stand and make great plays down the field. Winston has struggled under pressure, causing him to misplace balls and make costly turnovers, but when given time, Winston threw for over 300 yards and 3 Touchdowns with no turnovers!
Nick Folk is known to be a legend in New York Jets history, mainly because of last-minute field goals to give them the win. And after missing two field goals and an extra point, Nick Folk was able to drive the game-winning field goal barely in between the goal post to help them achieve victory. The greatest part about this, is the fact that HC Dirk Kutter put his faith, his teams faith, and the entire fan base’s faith in Nick Folk, after having about 25 seconds left on the clock, instead of running more plays down the field, the Bucs decided to get right in the middle of the field and run the clock to 4 seconds left. Much anticipation and anxiety were being murmured around the stadium, but once Folk made the field, it was all legendary from there.
These are the keys to success from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers versus The New York Giants. Be sure to tune back later this week for the keys to success as The Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on The New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football!
