C-USA: Inner-Conference Matchups Make Up For Bye Week

As the college football season continues to stretch on, the C-USA is starting to take advantage of their bye weeks this week. While teams performed exceptionally well last week, the matchups are still important as there are a couple of inner conference games and some Power 5 Conference matchups, which could ultimately lead to bow games down the season. The conference games are also going to help separate the pretenders from the contenders as the bulk of the NCAA season is coming up, and once again helps define potential Bowl games at the end of the season. With that being said, here are the C-USA matchups and what to watch for listed below:

Rice @ Pittsburgh
Rice is looking to get back to their winning ways, but with a carousel of quarterbacks, and having an underwhelming offense averting 13 points and a little under 300 yards, Rice will need to step it up offensively to win this game.

UTEP @ Army
UTEP is still looking for their first win of the season, and unfortunately will most likely not get it this week. With their defense allowing over 500 yards of opposing offense, expect Army to run all over UTEP.

Charlotte @ Florida Intl
FIU is off to a surprising start so far this season and is looking to capitalize on conference rival Charlotte, who is still looking for their first win this season. FIU will run away with this game, expect a lot of offense from FIU.

Middle Tennessee @ Florida Atlantic
Another conference game and this one should be very exciting! FAU has an explosive offense but has given up a lot of yardage on defense. Midd Tenn will look to outscore FAU but will come up short in this shootout.

South Alabama @ Louisiana Tech
LTech has won some very close games this year against their matchups so far, but expect LTech to explode on South Ala.

Marshall @ Cincinnati
Marshall looks to bring the defense to a struggling Cincinnati offense. Marshall will need to put up a lot of yards to ensure at least some scoring drives to be able to compete against Cincy.

North Texas @ Southern Mississippi
Expect a high-scoring game between NTexas and SMiss. Both are having over 400 yards of offense a game, but NTexas defense will win this game for them this week.

It will be a very productive week of the C-USA is able to pull some upsets and dominate their rival games. A majority of these games can be seen on television, otherwise, you will always be able to tune into your radio station to hear the play by play. Be sure to look out for the recap of this week’s games on Sunday!
