Denver Broncos: Three Keys against the Buffalo Bills
When the Denver Broncos entered the 2017 season, they had several questions that needed to be answered. So far the answers to those questions have all been answered. This week with a road trip to Buffalo, New York to take on the Buffalo Bills they will get another questioned answered. How well will they play on the road? Here are three keys for Sunday’s road game.
- Run Defense
The Denver Broncos run defense is one of stellar excellence over the first two weeks. Can they keep that going in week three at Buffalo? LeSean McCoy is running for an average of 3.5 yards per carry. The Broncos are only allowing 2.9 yards per carry. This is where the game could be won or lost. However, the moves that the Broncos made on defense are making themselves known.
- Pass Rush
Going into this game, the Denver Broncos only have three sacks. The Buffalo Bills have given up 5 sacks. If the Broncos defense can get to Tyrod Taylor and make him uncomfortable in the pocket, the “No Fly Zone” could have a fun day. However, this is up to Von Miller and Co. to get to the QB.
- Trevor Siemian
The play of Trevor Siemian has given the Denver Broncos and John Elway the confidence that they have made the right decision in QB. They did not go out and acquire a veteran quarterback. This will be Siemian’s first road test of the season. However, the Bills are not the formidable defense they once were. They are currently ranked 31st overall. If the trend continues, the Broncos and Trevor Siemian should be able to have their way with the Bills defense.
The Denver Broncos are playing some excellent football through two weeks. They have great balance with the run and the pass. If they can continue this form throughout the season, it is a strong recipe for success.
